It’s been over 5 years since we’ve been immersed in all things baby. We are expecting our third baby just in time for Christmas this year. I’ve always loved shopping for my girls, and this time is no exception. It’s been fun to explore new products and shops that weren’t around last time I was pregnant.
I was so excited to be able to put this list together and hope you have fun browsing too! I’d also love to hear about some of your must-have products and places to shop for your littles below.
Des Moines shops for baby and mom
Lincoln and Lexi
I’ve shopped here for quite some time in West Des Moines. I love Meg’s personalized blankets and shirts for any occasion. She also carries great brands like Freshly Picked, Copper Pearl, Aden and Anais, and more. Not the mention the customer service is excellent! I love that I can send a quick Facebook message to order something custom and she will send me pictures before she completes it.

Honey Dot Baby Shop
I recently learned about this shop in the East Village through Instagram. It’s quickly becoming a favorite! Carrying unique brands like Rylee and Cru, Copper Pearl, and L’ovedbaby- not only is it a whimsical atmosphere but again, the customer service is excellent. I always feel so welcome when I walk in Abby’s doors! Also- they deliver to the hospital, making it a wonderful place to shop for a gift.
Swell Shop for Baby
I have not yet been in this store, but it’s on my list to visit, so I thought I’d include it. I love that it is a local shop that sells unique products for mama and baby!
Adorn Gift and Home
Adorn, in Indianola, Iowa, sells a few super sweet baby and kiddo items even though they aren’t technically a baby store. I love popping in and seeing what they have in stock. It’s another great way to shop local. While you’re there, a trip to Corner Sundry and Funaro’s Deli is always a good idea!

More Baby Products and Shops I’m Loving
I kept seeing this lounger floating around social media and was intrigued. I did a little research and decided to take the plunge and get one. It looks like it will be a great place for the babe to lounge and relax, especially during those early days. I really like how portable it is too, so even if we are visiting grandparents, the babe has its own spot.
I plan to breastfeed this babe but I will also be returning to work. I know I will need a great, reliable pump. I used the Medela pump for both of my older girls. While it worked just fine, I am excited to try this brand!
I love I can now get this brand at some local stores, but I do like having an online account with Freshly Picked. I also am a Fringe member where I can get 20% off every purchase. These super cute, quality mocassins will grow with baby, offering hard sole mocassins as well. I also love their diaper bags and ordered this one already for Baby S during one of their recent sales!
I absolutely adore these dolls for both gals and guys alike. Not only are they so sweet but I love a company that gives back and this company certainly does that! With every doll that is purchased, 10 meals are provided for children in need. I can certainly get behind that. Oh and the dolls, I want them all!
Bright colors, stripes, and soft fabrics? Pretty much wraps up June and January’s clothes for babe and toddlers. I fell in love with their mix and match patterns and colors and the reviews and followers on social media sing their praises too! Also, if you follow them on Instagram they offer really great sales throughout the year!!
I have been a HUGE fan of Honest Co. products for baby since my girls were little. But, I recently stumbled upon this brand and am going to try it for the new babe. I have not tried it yet, but thought I’d share!
I love this company and the bundles that come shipped directly to your front door are so convenient. I currently use several lines of this company- beauty, cleaning products, and personal products. We are planning on doing Honest diapers for the first few months until we switch to cloth diapers. We also love their wipes. I still always make sure I have a package or two for messy faces and spills. (For anyone interested, we use BumGenius 4.0 diapers– we used them for our middle kiddo and saved them in case we had another). There are a TON of options for cloth diapers and I haven’t honestly done any recent research on what’s out there now. We are just going to use the ones we had. Apparently, now they don’t have the 4.0, they’re now the 5.0, which is linked above.
I love that this brand is available at both Lincoln and Lexi and Honey Dot Baby Shop, here in DSM but there are some prints that both stores above don’t have. ALL of these items- the swaddles, burp cloths, bibs are THE SOFTEST ever! Now, to narrow down my choices so baby doesn’t have 50 swaddles!!
I loooved wearing my babies. It’s seriously one of the things I miss most and am looking forward to the most with this new babe on the way. I love these carriers- they look so soft and wonderfully made. And the colors- delicious!
