Spring Fashion: Crushing on Blush

2

The birds are chirping, the grass is visible, and I’m pondering washing up the kids’ winter coats and snow pants. That can only mean one thing, spring is here!

Every spring I feel a sense of relief that the winter is over. It also puts me in the mood to freshen up my wardrobe for a new season. This spring, I’m definitely crushing on the color blush. It is such a pretty shade that takes me away from the darkness of winter.

Retailers seem to be crushing on this color as well, because I’ve noticed it a lot in local boutiques, Target, and more.

Here are some of my favorite blush fashion finds along with tips for how you can wear it in a big or small way.

Blush shoes

A very subtle but frequently wearable way to add blush to your wardrobe is blush sneakers. Slip on sneakers are perfect for spring when it’s a little too chilly for sandals, you haven’t gotten you spring pedicure, or you just want a pair of shoes that are easy to get on in a jiffy. Add your favorite pair of jeans, a casual tee, and you’re set. They stay a little bit more clean that white sneakers but still have that fresh look!

My exact sneakers are a few year old, but here are some different ideas if you’re looking to shop: perforated/textured/ruffled/quilted

A blush tee is easy to layer or wear solo. I got this one at Target and it has a slight shimmer to it. It’s easy to dress it up or down depending on the occasion. I love pairing blush with burgundy (like the cardigan I’m wearing), but blush also works well with chambray or denim, gray, olive, cream, and brown.

My tee is sold out, but here are some different ideas if you’re looking to shop: scoop neck/heathered v-neck/lace shoulder/plus size lace shoulder

When I saw this blush cardigan at Target, I knew it was coming in my closet! Most of my cardigans are gray, black, or brown. This one will be great for putting over a plain tee, graphic tee, a chambray top, or even a spring dress. If you want to take a walk on the wild side, blush also pairs well with camouflage and leopard print too!

Here are some different ones if you’re looking to shop: exact/light weight/three-fourths sleeve/vest

Have you added any blush to your wardrobe this spring? What other spring colors are you loving?
