The Science Center of Iowa is offering Pint Size Science classes for children ages 20 months to 5 years old. The classes reflect current brain research, which shows that academic learning is directly connected to emotion. Young children need a caring adult to share their early STEM experiences, and Pint Size Science classes provide opportunities for young children and their parent or caregiver to learn together. Classes are led by SCI’s Science Learning Team and feature hands-on activities to spark curiosity and wonder through play.
Registration opens August 6 for Pint Size Science classes at the Science Center of Iowa.
Pint Size Science is for kids ages 3 to 5. The classes give kids the chance to learn and explore the world around them with interactive, hands-on activities.
This fall the Science Center is also offering new Toddler Edition classes for children ages 20 months to 3 years. (Have a 3-year-old? You pick which class you think is best!)
Classes are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. They last approximately 45 minutes. Classes are set-up as a three-month series related to the same topic. Registration for all classes in a session is not required, though it is encouraged!
Class topics include classifying creatures, exploring engineering, and bits and bots.
