One Mom’s Experience at The Spa at West Glen

We got the chance to follow up with our Mother’s Day Giveaway Winner, Holly from Des Moines. Holly lives in Ankeny and is a mom of three (11, 9 and 5) and won an amazing spa package from the generous folks at The Spa.

My Experience at The Spa at West Glen:

I walked in and was immediately calmed by the quiet and calm interior. I was greeted by a receptionist and taken to the locker area where I stowed my belongings in a locker and changed into a super soft robe. Then I moved to a waiting area where I was given my choice of beverages (I chose a glass of white wine, because I’m there to relax and unwind and well, why not?).

 

My spa treatment was the West Glen Body Ritual, and it was AMAZING. Just what this busy mom of three needed! It started with a body scrub, to slough off all those dead skin cells. This was relaxing in itself! She even paid attention to scrubbing my perpetually dry feet which was nice as I practically live in flip flops or sandals this time of year. I was shown to the locker room where I was able to shower off any remaining scrub. After this I made my way back to the waiting area and then was told that now the real relaxation would begin… time for a massage!

 

I was already feeling pretty relaxed at this point, so I knew I’d be feeling incredible by the time I left. I had a fantastic massage. The therapist asked if there were any areas she should focus on and by the end I was feeling amazing. Very relaxed, muscles loosened, peaceful. I got changed back into my clothes and was appreciative of the selection of products in the locker room… disposable hair brushes, hair spray, and a variety of other personal care items so that I could walk out feeling relaxed without looking like a hot mess.

 

When I checked out at the front desk I was sent on my way with a cute little gift bag containing the eye cream that was also part of my prize from the giveaway and told to have a great evening. I’m not a regular eye cream user, I must admit, so I was looking forward to using it!
