New Year’s Resolutions from the DMMB Kids

0

It’s that time of year again! Time to reflect on the past year and to look forward to the new year with excitement and determination. Whether you are determined to get in shape, spend more time coloring with your kids, make more homemade meals, remember everyone’s birthdays, or see more of your in-laws, I hope that you are excited about all that 2013 has to offer!

I asked the moms of Des Moines Moms Blog to chat with their little ones about what they want to do more of, or do better, in the new year. Here is what a few of them had to say:

Sarah’s daughter, Clare, said that she wanted to celebrate her birthday! (She turns 3 in February.)

Katie C’s son Drake, age 3, has it all figured out! He told his Momma that he wants “to play outside and then sleep and go into a friend’s house and play and then go to another friends house.”

Jodi’s oldest son, Isaiah, age 5, is pretty confident that this year was a good one. When she asked him if there was anything he wanted to do better next year, or work on, he responded, “I don’t think so.”

Bekah’s oldest, Claire, 3, said that she wanted to “go to bed” and her second born, Norah, 2, said, “Milk”. Looks like an easy year for Claire and Norah’s mommy and daddy!

Angela’s little man, Abel, age 6, said that he will stop wanting too much. When she asked Elliana, 3, what she would do better next year, she said, “Go upstairs.” (Angela thinks that has something to do with taking naps or going to bed without a fuss.) Isabel, 3, responded, “Play these” as she pointed to her toys. Amariah, age 5, said, “Same thing Abel says.” How sweet!

Katie E’s daughter, Hallie, 4, said that she wants to be a better superhero! (Who wouldn’t!) She also said that she wants to be quieter in the bathroom at school. I could not make this stuff up!

When I asked my girls what they want to do better in the new year, Cadence, 8, said, “Try to have a better attitude and share more.” While Liliana, 5, said, “Go shopping at the mall and make gingerbread cookies!”

So there you have it! This is what 2013 has in store for us!

What are your family’s new year resolutions?
