Finnean (and Mom) Approved!

Thanks to the Iowa Events Center, my son and I had the opportunity to attend Monster Jam’s first show last night.  I should add that never, I mean NEVER in my life thought I would be going to Monster Jam!  Of course I chose Finnean, my five year old son, as my date.  He was so excited from the moment I told him about it.  The day finally arrived and we headed for Wells Fargo Arena for night of huge trucks and lots of dirt.  We didn’t know what to expect but Monster Jam did not disappoint!  The atmosphere was full of excitement and the audience was full of kids!  I was pleasantly surprised at how family friendly it was (again, I had NO idea what to expect) and loved all the smiles from Finnean and all the kids around us.  The announcer made it fun and really got the crowd into it.  Everyone cheered wildly when one of the massive trucks took the corner too fast and flipped over.  The show lasted a little over two hours and they mixed it up with four wheeler races and dirt bikes stunts (my favorite part-even though I think it is quite terrifying)!  Finnean declared that “EVERYTHING!” was his favorite part.  It was all just so awesome, he couldn’t decide.  We would definitely recommend taking ear plugs or noise canceling head phones if you have them, those big trucks have to get loud to get up in the air!  It was our first Monster Jam but it won’t be our last!  Hope you check out one of the two shows they have scheduled for today (January 4th)!
