What I’m Loving as a New Mama of Two

0

mom lifeWhew, I have to remember to breathe these days! Going from one to two kids has been unexpectedly harder than I thought! My little guy is now in his 4th month so I feel like I’m somewhat coming out of the fog of tiredness. *Keyword: somewhat

Whether you’re a mom of one or two,  (or three or four or more- bless your heart) we all know mom life is hard. I love getting tips and hacks to make life easier.

Mom Favorites

Here are my current mom favorites since becoming a mom of two.

Caffeine

Give me all the coffee. Becoming a mom of two has reminded me how precious sleep is and how little of it we get with kids. I need caffeine to function but it takes me too long to finish a cup of coffee. I’d rather just drink a quick double shot of espresso. This machine is on the pricier side, but it has been amazing and is fairly simple to use. If you’re not a huge espresso person, this one is great as well.

Easy Pizza Dough

This stuff is amazing. I promise. It sounds strange, but it has quickly become a favorite in my house and literally takes less than ten minutes to make.

Two Ingredient Pizza Dough

1 cup of plain Greek yogurt and 1 1/2 cups of self-rising flour.

That’s it. Mix those two ingredients together, roll out your dough and add whatever sauce and toppings you would like. If my picky three-year-old loves it, it has to be delicious.

CC Cream

I am not a huge make-up person and therefore I am new to the world of CC cream. Basically, it is a “color correcting” or “color control” cream that has SPF and anti-aging ingredients in it. You can use it as a primer underneath your foundation, or if you’re me and don’t have time to do your makeup you can use it as a stand-alone product. It gives me the appearance that I’m somewhat awake and functional without a full face of makeup on. Here is the brand I use and love.

Grocery Pick-up

I now consider myself a veteran grocery store picker-upper. I personally use Hy-Vee, but I know other stores such as Wal-Mart let you pick up your groceries as well. It has been so simple for me to order groceries online the night before, schedule a time I want to pick them up the next day, and have someone else bring them out and load them up in my car. Grocery shopping with one kid is enough, let alone two. No thank you. Read up here on the 9 part series ultimate guides to grocery shopping in Des Moines from my fellow DMMB bloggers.

Target Pick-up

Target has also been a complete lifesaver for me. I despise going to Target with a toddler and baby but feel like I need something from Target at least three times a week. With pick-up, I can order what I need (mostly more diapers) and they’ll have it ready in less than two hours. All I have to do is text them when I’ve arrived. Someone always comes out in less than two minutes with my items and puts them in the car. All while my kids sit in the back seat and I don’t have to worry about hauling them out. As much as I love roaming the aisles of Target, I prefer to do it alone, so this has been extremely helpful.

What are your mom favorites that make your life easier with multiple kids?
