Hey hey mamas! I’m Kara and I’m so honored to be a part of the DMMB team. I am looking forward to connecting and learning in this community.
Although I grew up in Des Moines, my family and I moved back almost 3 years ago (even though I can’t believe it’s been that long) from Nashville, TN where I had lived for almost 8 years. It was home and although we miss it dearly, we love being close to family and are getting plugged into the community here. My husband, Noah and I have been married for 6 years and we have two beautiful, spunky girls, London (5) and Iylee (pronounced eye-lee, 2).
I spend most of my time being mom but I also own an online nutrition business, Life Well Lived. I absolutely love helping women find balance, lose weight, and feel confident again. I created Transform: Nutrition Bootcamp that has helped hundreds of women lose weight, learn how to properly fuel their bodies and have more energy. I also work one-on-one with clients and love creating tailored plans to help them reach their individual goals.
I’ve had a passion for nutrition for awhile, but it was my oldest daughter, London, who sparked the fire in me to share my knowledge with other women. Two years ago after horrible tantrums and behavioral issues we were at a complete loss. We were frustrated and felt like we had exhausted our options — I didn’t know what to do for her.
I found an article about gluten that finally gave us some answers because my daughter had almost every single symptom that a gluten intolerance can cause. We immediately removed gluten from her diet and saw an incredible change within a week. It was then that I truly realized how powerful nutrition is and the affects it has on our bodies.
My approach to nutrition is simple. I focus on nourishing your body with whole foods (without going crazy). I’m obsessed with creating healthy recipes that are easy + simple + delicious. It’s my passion to show that nutrition and losing weight go hand in hand and doesn’t have to be complicated or unenjoyable.
I’m proving one recipe at a time that eating healthy can taste amazing. I can’t wait to share my favorite recipes and nutrition tips with you!
