I was born in Davenport, Iowa but my family moved to Lausanne, Switzerland, in elementary school. My PE class was skiing in the Alps on Fridays. We moved back to the USA and moved around (Iowa, Indiana, and Pennsylvania) before I graduated high school (2001) in the north hills of Pittsburgh. I followed in my dad’s footsteps and attended Iowa State University, where I met my husband our freshman year, through mutual friends.
I graduated in 2005 and got a job teaching in Central Iowa. My husband, Scott, and I got married in 2006 and settled into our first home. I never knew I wanted to stay home until the day my son was born. My whole world was flipped upside down in the best possible way. I completed my contract and have been a stay-at-home-mom since 2010.
My husband Scott and I have 3 children, Solon (8), Vera (6) and Lucy (2). We are currently in the process of adopting from China. We also have a pet fish named Bubbles and no one is more surprised than I, that he is still doing swimmingly well!
I love spending time with my husband and kids, whether that’s traveling to see our family near or far or exploring right in our own great state. Adventure always awaits and I can’t wait to find it with my family. I love to laugh every single day and make life fun.
If I am not with my family, you can find me hanging out with my girlfriends, volunteering at church and school, perusing the aisles of Target, eating french fries, or sipping a fountain soda.
