Kites on the Green in Johnston
is a can’t-miss event for the whole family!
Mark your calendars for the fifth-annual Kites on the Green event on Saturday, May 5.
The celebration will feature giant show-kite displays, kite contests for people of all ages, celebrity bol races, and free kite building. Plus, the whole family can enjoy live music from Grammy-Award winner Justin Roberts, and delicious food to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.
Kites on the Green, which has grown in size every year, is sure to keep kids (and grown-ups!) of all ages entertained. This free event is made possible because of generous community sponsors including Veridian Credit Union, MidAmerican Energy, Johnston Hy-Vee, DuPont Pioneer, John Deere Financial, Foth, Hubbell Realty Company, Charter Bank, Volkswagen Lithia, The Wellmark Foundation, Stoney Creek Hotel & Conference Center, and Todd and Alison Cate.

against the wind pulling an 8′ parachute style kite.)
