InTREEguing Tree Houses at Reiman Gardens

0

Each spring my girls and I plan a field trip to Reiman Gardens in Ames. Beyond the natural beauty of the flowers, gardens, and butterflies, each spring brings something different to the gardens.

This year it’s treehouses.

Reiman Gardens in Ames, Iowa is a family friendly adventure! Interactive treehouses are featured in 2015.

Well, I probably wouldn’t have called them tree houses, as none are actually in trees, but regardless of what you call them, they are fun, welcoming kids to explore, climb, and interact with each structure.

Enjoy these photos from our field trip. I hope they encourage you to take a little road trip and enjoy an outdoor adventure of your own!

I’m in the process of creating a bird & butterfly garden, so I loved the garden art I saw at Reiman Gardens this year.

My eldest daughter is a voracious reader, so it was no wonder she chose the Text Hut as her favorite. It even had books inside!

My youngest is very interested in birds, so her choice of The Aviary as her favorite tree house was no surprise. It was my favorite, too. I loved the birds’ nests the artist created.

I would love to host a garden party that looked like this! But if I tried I’m afraid it would just look like a mismatched mess.

We never miss the Butterfly House. It’s one of the best we’ve been to – even better than many zoos!

There are eight tree houses displayed throughout Reiman Gardens. Plan a visit to see the other six!

Tip: Pack a special lunch and enjoy it anywhere in the park! Maybe in the shade of your favorite tree house or at the edge of the pond.
