“Home” for the Holidays: Holiday Wear Target Style 2014

0

So, Ladies… I must tell you. I typically do this post with a fashion-loving friend who isn’t afraid to think outside the box… but due to a hectic work schedule, my husband kindly obliged to helping me on our date night. (Yes… he is sweet!) Plus, I wasn’t at my favorite Target…. Do you all have a favorite?! I just appreciate the selection at some locations a little more! 😉 But I think we did okay! Here’s what we came up with!

Holiday Fashion, Target Style!

This first outfit was my FAVORITE! My hubby said, “Total photographer outfit.” LOL! Whatever that means. BUT, I did really love it! The blazer is a super cute plaid print that just screams festive. I love the lace top underneath to add texture! The jeans look black but they are just a dark wash skinny that had a good stretch without looking too much like leggings. I loved the pearl and gold necklace to add a little pop and class to this outfit. The booties (which are a must-have this season) are a brown leather that would look good with any outfit! Side note: I always cuff my blazers/jackets. I loved the lining of this one, so it made cuffing all the more necessary! Also, notice the jeans are cuffed, too—another must-do!

I was really hoping that Target would have their faux leather leggings or pants this year, but the location I was at did not have any. 🙁  So, I settled for black skinnies! I loved these black below-the-ankle booties—I think they must lengthen my short legs or something, because I kind of wanted to buy them! The booties were super comfortable, too! The necklace is an oldie from Target that I own and love! Sorry… hubby accidentally took out my accessories at this point!

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 presetI loved this next dress because it gives a good allusion to one’s figure with the color blocking on the sides. I love how a dress can do that! This outfit is perfect for a working mom who is heading to a Christmas party right after work! The shoes (again, booties) were dangerously high for this flats-abusing momma, but I would totally rock them for a fun event! I also loved the simplicity of the necklace and how it added a pop to a color-safe dress! Side note: If I were to wear this dress in public, I would totally rock some shape wear underneath! If you haven’t discovered shape wear… I highly recommend it!  All the celebs smooth out their imperfections with it. SO, LADIES… no shame in it!

I don’t think you can ever go wrong by adding a blazer (Target has tons of options!) The dress also had a cute gold zipper at the back which is a nice detail if you want to lose the jacket! I settled for some bracelets to add a little fancy to the combo! There are those adorable below-the-ankle black booties again!  🙂

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 presetThis next outfit is another perfect work-to-party outfit! The blazer was not the perfect fit for my body type but you tall girls could totally rock this! I just couldn’t resist it because it was red—red just says Christmas to me! I love the polka dot top underneath! Super cute all on its own, too, even though it is sleeveless. The gold necklace and dangerously high boots seemed like great accessories to finish off this festive look! Jeans or black jeans are a great choice with this combo!

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 presetThis last outfit wasn’t my top choice because the dress didn’t fit great on me… mostly just in my middle. BUT, I couldn’t resist the fur vest! It just seemed totally appropriate for an Iowa winter and for a woman whose hubby likes to hunt deer on the weekends! I also like the texture it added to an otherwise simple outfit!  I think the gold necklace and shoes dressed it up nicely and made it totally workable for a party setting!

I hope you all have a wonderful and joy-filled holiday season! Fashion is a fun way to jazz up the season… but mostly I wish you time to reflect on the blessings in your life and to savor sweet memories with your little ones!

God Bless!
