Hannah Geneser Learning Center and Safety Store

As a mom, I basically have two goals for my family: keep everyone safe and be budget conscious. Sometimes I get lucky and these things work in tandem, but more often than not I’m caught in a battle of trying to save money alongside making smart choices about everyone’s health and safety. The Hannah Geneser Learning Center & Safety Store helps my #momwin game by combining safety with saving money on safety devices.

Keeping Kids Safe

The Hannah Geneser Learning Center & Safety Store is committed to making safety a priority for all families. Did you know that preventable injuries are the leading cause of death and injury for children of all ages (1 to 19 years old)? That’s why the Safety Store provides a variety of safety products and have experts located at the store to help educate you on best practices as your child grows. These experts are also there to help you with any questions about the products available in the store!

Can we pause for a moment and let me sit in my mom shame? I am ashamed to admit that for the longest time, no one in my family wore bike helmets because I thought they were too expensive and not necessary. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Bike helmets and lots of other things (kids’ booster seats, car seats, life jackets and carbon monoxide detectors just to name a few), are made affordable at the Safety Store. Their staff work with the manufacturers to keep prices low. And for every item you purchase there, you are supporting the Center for Advocacy and Outreach at Blank Children’s Hospital.

The Hannah Geneser Learning Center & Safety Store currently sells the following safety devices:

Kara Knaack
Kara originally hails from northwest Iowa where she met her husband, Lance, through a 4-H fashion show. After a decade of living in central Iowa, Kara is still figuring out which way is north. Wearing the hat of “wife, mommy, employee, chef, ribbon tie-er and family calendar organizer,” Kara knows a bit about juggling life and work. Kara became a boy-mom in June of 2011 to Lucan and a girl-mom to Gracelyn in December of 2014. Most days you can find her mixing up metaphors and oversharing life’s moments via social media. Kara enjoys yoga, reading, gardening, cooking, sewing in straight lines and singing along to musicals. A spender by nature, but thrifty by necessity, Kara is always in hunt of a bargain. She’s an active member of Northpoint Church and a resident of Grimes. Her vision for life includes “doing the best we can with what God gives us.”
