Des Moines Fireworks 2017

Hooray for red, white, and blue! The Fourth of July isn’t complete without fireworks and other festivities. No matter how old you are, there’s something magical about watching the sky light up with colorful sparks. Where will you be watching?

Here’s where you can see fireworks over the Fourth of July weekend in and around Des Moines in 2017.

June 30 | Party Before the Works,” Wright Place, 340 Wright Road, Norwalk
7 p.m. to 12 a.m.
Featuring live music from Standing Hampton.

July 1 | Good Guys Heartland Nationals, Iowa State Fair Grounds

July 2, 3 | Principal Park, after the I-Cubs game

July 2 | Live at the Creek Concert Series Kick-Off, Jordan Creek Ampitheater, West Des Moines
5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Free event. Live music by Decoy followed by fireworks at dusk.

July 3 | Yankee Doodle Pops, west terrace, Iowa State Capitol, Des Moines

July 3 | Prairie Meadows, Altoona

July 3 | Ames
The parade starts at 11 a.m. on Main Street. They will be launching fireworks July 3 at dusk from the lot G7 at ISU. Reiman Gardens will be free to enter after 6 p.m. on July 3 and is a great place to watch the fireworks. If it rains, fireworks will be July 5.

July 1–4 | Urbandale Annual 4th of July Celebration
One of the largest celebrations in the area! Fireworks at 10 p.m. at Walker Johnston Park on the 4th, a carnival starting Saturday the 1st, a pancake breakfast, a parade at 10 a.m. on the 4th, and more!

July 3 | All Iowa Bash, 5th Street, Valley Junction
3 p.m. to 11 p.m.

July 3 | Independence Day Parade, West Des Moines
6:30 p.m.
Starts at Valley West Drive and Ashworth Road

July 4 | Home Base Iowa Fireworks Show, Grimes

July 4 | Fireworks, Racoon River Park, West Des Moine

July 4 | Waukee Celebration, Centennial Park

Starts at 3 p.m. with a parade through Historic Downtown and ends at Centennial Park with inflatables, food vendors, live music, and more! Fireworks at dusk. 

July 4 | Windsor Heights, Colby Park
A parade at 2 p.m. along with family-friendly activities (including a video game truck, inflatables, and more!), live music, food vendors, and a beverage garden. Fireworks start at 10 p.m.

July 4 | July 4 Celebration, Perry
Parade starts at 10 a.m. at East Perry Plaza. Food, crafts, and kids activities in Pattee Park. Fireworks will begin at dusk.
