Quick At-Home Workout for When you Can’t Make it to the Gym

0

Summer is here and that means kids are home which may make it harder for you to hit the gym and workout. Or maybe you can’t make it due to a sick child or you’re short on time.

It’s important to find ways to move each day, but this doesn’t mean it has to be an intense workout. Focus on being intentional with moving your body, whether that’s a quick 15-20 minute walk around your neighborhood or getting outside with your kids and running around with them. There are so many ways to exercise even when you can’t make it to the gym.

Let’s chat about the benefits of exercising

  1. Improves Mood: Research shows that working out improves your mood and can help combat anxiety and depression.
  2. Healthy Bones: Exercise isn’t just great for your muscles but for your bones too. After our thirties, bone mass begins to decline, so it’s important to exercise to help prevent this from causing other muscle disorders like osteoporosis.
  3. Increase Energy Levels: Exercise increases blood flow which allows more blood and oxygen to get to your body which gives you more energy to get things done.
  4. Better Sleep: Regular exercise helps your body relax and sleep better because of the energy depletion and the increase in your body temperature.
  5. Helps with weight loss: Exercise along with nutrition can help you lose weight.

Instead of skipping out on exercising try this quick HIIT workout  (no equipment required). Do it at home and get your heart rate up, endorphins flowing, and boost your energy. If you’re short on time feel free to adapt this workout by only repeating 2 times instead of 3.
