My Book Collection

5

I am a book collector (as if that was not obvious from my post last month). My family knows that one of the keys to my heart is a Barnes and Noble gift card to help me load up my Nook. I can read books over and over again and never grow tired of the characters or their stories.

Here is a list of books that I have grown to love in the past few years. Strangely enough, most of these have been or will be made in to movies. I can honestly say I read all of these before that happened.

Gone_Girl_DMMB_PostGone Girl – This one was so hard to put down. A suspense thriller that will literally have you burning through the pages to figure out what is happening (because honestly, I had no idea). I will definitely be checking out Gillian Flynn’s other books, Dark Places and Sharp Objects.

Jodi Picoult’s books – I have read several of Jodi Picoult’s books. They are usually thought-provoking and very relatable. They are also packed with emotional turns. My Sister’s Keeper and Nineteen Minutes are the two that hit me the hardest – especially now that I have children.

Hunger_Games_DMMB_PostThe Hunger Games series – I got sucked into this series and really did fall in love with it. I discovered the first book about a year before the first movie hit the theaters. I read the first two books in one weekend and the third book the following weekend. This is one series that I read over and over again and never get tired of.

Divergent series – This is one I just finished and was another that I had a hard time putting down. While I struggled a little with the back and forth between the main characters, I was immediately caught up in the bigger picture concept of the series.

Angry_Housewives_DMMB_PostAngry Housewives Eating Bon Bons – I have read this book several times and still love it. The story dives deep in to the friendships of five women, something we can all relate to. I have found most Lorna Landvik books that I have read quickly pull me in, and I am able to instantly relate with the characters.

Dan Brown – Robert Langdon series (Angels and Demons, The Da Vinci Code, The Lost Symbol, and Inferno) – I have read three of the four books (Inferno is on my “to read” list) and love the suspense thriller feel of them. What makes them even better is that, without seeing a movie, I can visualize the locations because I have been to most of the locations in person.

  1. Love this list. I have read most of the books you listed and could not agree more. I mean, you already know how I feel about Divergent! 😉 I’m definitely adding the Housewives book to my must read list. Thanks for sharing.

    • Katie – angry house ice is definitely my favorite but her other books are just as great. If you’d like to borrow a few let me know!!
