We first heard about Kerri Photography from our friends at Des Moines Children’s Dentistry. We love everything about this amazing pediatric facility, and they couldn’t say enough about their experience with Kerri. Their walls are now adorned with her fabulous work.
About Kerri
Kerri Hays is a proud Beaverdale resident and small business owner. She shares her home with her husband, Tyler and Wheaton Terrior, Nellie.
Kerri offers photography for newborns, toddlers, families, seniors, weddings, and pets. If you follow her on Instagram, you’ll learn quickly that her tagline ‘life is beautiful’ is not just lip service. I love living vicariously through her photos of everyday life!

DMMB: Tell us a little about your inspiration.
Kerri shares, “What inspires me behind the camera is realness. Shining personalities. Candid laughs. And love shared. My goal is always to capture a sincere emotion. One that matters. So it can be enjoyed and remembered for years to come.”
DMMB: When and why did you start your photography business?
In 2010, Kerri decided that the world needed a reminder to slow down. With a vision of photographing real people with real emotion, Kerri Photography was established. By encouraging people to embrace time spent with those they love most, Kerri hopes to remind each client that life, truly is beautiful.
DMMB: What is your favorite thing about being behind the camera?
Every person has a sense of pride and beauty about them. It is my job to remind the client of that beauty, capture it, and celebrate it.
DMMB: What age is your favorite to photograph?
1-3 years old. Because they are bold. They are curious. They have the natural and innocent yearning to play and celebrate life. Really, a reminder to us all how we should live our lives from day to day.
