Last month I shared some beautiful baby girl names that you shared with me, and it inspired me to come up with my own list of strong and handsome baby boy names that may not be in your typical top 20 baby name list. There are no baby boys in our house – we have a two-year-old girl and are expecting our second girl in less than two months – but it is always fun to come up with a list!

Here are my top 20 baby boy names:

Brennan – Last names as first names. This is becoming quite the trend these days, and this is one name that seems to be rising in the ranks. It also happens to be the name of my adorable nephew.

Hunter – Other than the obvious strong meaning of this name, it also feels very versatile with middle and last name choices.

Logan – Other than being Rory Gilmore’s significant other in the later seasons of Gilmore Girls, Logan is a name that exudes confidence and strength. One of my good friends named one of her twins Logan.

Everett – Don’t get me started on how much I love this name! It was apparently the name of my husband’s best friend as a child. Could be a contender for us if we were to ever have a boy.

Asher
– A little boy from my church has this name, and I just love it. It suits him well, as the name means happy and blessed.

Miles – I can’t hear this name without thinking of jazz musician Miles Davis. It makes me smile.

Bennett – I love the versatility of this name. While you could use the nickname Ben or Benny if that’s your thing, the full name sounds so handsome.

Derek – With the hard-sounding letters this name starts and ends with, it sounds incredibly strong. And it makes me think of the lead character from one of my favorite childhood movies, Save the Last Dance.

Graham – I’m pretty sure there was a season of The Bachelorette where she had a finalist named Graham. I don’t think he got the girl in the end, but he did get a shot at fame. And he was pretty darn handsome if I do recall.

Harrison – Other than the obvious Harrison Ford, there are many others who have made this name great. This was one of my top picks the first time I was pregnant if we were to have a boy.

Maddox – I really like this name because it sounds like its popular cousin, Max, but it is unique and is such a handsome name for a boy.

Ryder – OK, so maybe I chose this name because of one of the actors from Boy Meets World, Ryder Strong. Love the name and the show that takes me back to the great days of ’90s TV.

Travis – I love how this name sounds, but unfortunately, not with my last name. It’s a great pick if you’re looking for something that exudes a quiet strength.

Zachary – One of the trendier names on my list, Zachary (or Zach) also has a meaning that I love: God has remembered.

William – Such a classic name. While there are many nicknames associated with it, my favorite is the full name.

Tyson – Another great last name as a first name, and one that is growing in popularity. The name means firebrand – it doesn’t get much stronger than that.

Reid – Another contender for our first baby if we would have had a boy. Reid means red headed. Funny, since there are zero red heads on either side of our family.

Grady – I had never heard of this name until a few years ago, when one of my former colleagues shared the names of her sons with me and this was one of them. I just loved it – it is strong, handsome, and one-of-a-kind.

Mason – I know someone with this last name, and I think it’s one of my favorite “last names as first names” choices.

Landon – Another name of one of my adorable nephews, this name would have been a top choice by my husband and me if we had a boy. But alas, it has been taken.

What do you think? I don’t know if we’ll ever need a boy name, but it’s always fun to think about names you like!
