About MetroWaxx
MetroWaxx just celebrated their 10th anniversary last November! They are located at 5955 Merle Hay Road in Johnston. In 2005 they first opened under the name “All Body Basics” offering waxing, massage, and facials. In 2013 the founder, Jordanna, decided to follow her true passion and transitioned All Body Basics to a waxing only salon named MetroWaxx. They have been progressing and innovating ever since. For example, they added online booking and remodeled in 2014. The greatest addition has been the staff. MetroWaxx currently has four lovely ladies, Holly, Tori, Kristi, and the owner, Jordanna, performing waxing services.
Jordanna is licensed in Cosmetology, Esthetics, and Massage Therapy. The addition of staff has brought to light a gap in the beauty industry. “I am deeply saddened about how the cosmetology industry and schools are making big promises on how easy it is to get a job for newly licensed individuals,” states Jordanna. “Several of the chain salons or spas unfairly work employees without adequate pay, while other salons bring in new hires and immediately start them out on commission and without any clientele. I remember one story of an esthetician who started a new job on commission and only had three paying customer during the first 30 days!” At MetroWaxx, they offer employees a fair starting hourly rate with room to advance until the crew member is able to make more on commission then they would on hourly. They also encourage and pay for advanced staff training like attending skincare and wellness shows such as Chicago’s Midwest Face and Body. “I have been in the industry long enough that I want to give back and try and make a positive impact on the next generation of Estheticians and Cosmetologists!”
Services Offered
The most popular services are a Brazilian wax followed by Brow waxing. They also offer Bikini waxing if a full Brazilian is not your style. Add a Full or Half Leg wax to a Brazilian or Bikini wax and receive a package price. If body waxing is not your goal, MetroWaxx offers everything from a full facial wax to just a brow or lip wax.
