It’s that easy! Do you still have questions? Here are the most common questions:

  1. How do I pay for my visit?

The $50 per visit fee is payable by debit or credit card. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. If the provider determines within the first three minutes that your condition should be treated at a nearby medical facility, you will not be charged.

  1. How secure is my medical information?

UIeCare takes patient confidentiality serious. We only collect patient information absolutely required to deliver care safely and effectively. We abide by the strict guidelines of HIPAA and other industry standards. Transmitted information is encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.

  1. Will my primary care provider (PCP) receive a record of my visit?

If you provide us with the information about your primary care provider, we will send a personalized visit summary including treatment recommendations and outcomes. You will also have access to this information in your UIeCare account

  1. Do I need to make an account for everyone in my family?

Each member of your family requires a unique username and account because each account represents each person’s health record.

  1. Do you accept insurance?

Although we cannot accept insurance for virtual visits, you may check with your insurance to determine whether your visit fee can be applied to your deductible. Typically, the virtual visit fee is a qualified expense for a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Health Savings Account (HSA), or Health Reimbursement Account (HRA). We have agreements in place with certain large employers in Iowa that have agreed to cover some or all of the cost of UIeCare for their employees. Learn more about paying for your visit and restrictions here.

Remember: virtual care is not meant to replace your primary health care visits and is not appropriate for emergencies. We want this to be convenient for you in a non-emergency situation. If at any point your symptoms worsen or you feel like you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency room. It is strongly recommended that infants two months or younger, with a fever of 100.4° F (38° C) or higher, be physically evaluated very promptly in-person by a doctor.
