Easy Costco Dinner Hacks
As a mom, the question I detest the most is:
“what’s for dinner?”
It simultaneously causes my soul to wither as well as makes me want to shout in rage. Why am I the only person who can plan or make dinner around here? Can’t someone else be the adult? Seriously.
There are days when I need a quick dinner hack and Costco saves the day.
Kirkland Signature brand items (Costco’s exclusive brand) are a game changer. There are several times when I’m trying to stick to my budget and will buy “store brand” only to end up disappointed (for example – generic Oreos never live up to the original).
I have NEVER been disappointed by Kirkland Signature products. The quality of Kirkland Signature items are awesome. Never be afraid to try KS brand, because it’s the same or better (and if you don’t love it, it’s guaranteed). Don’t believe me? Check it out for yourself!
Now on to my dinner hacks!
Here’s how I turn some of these products into full meals:
Combine brown rice, orange chicken, frozen edamame (which my son affectionately calls “pea pods” and has the most fun popping them out of the pod) – also from Costco and potstickers for a complete meal!
Add halved cherry tomatoes to your tortellini and pesto and you have a restaurant-quality meal.
As for the rotisserie chicken, you have to do NOTHING to it. It’s a star on it’s own. Add a salad and now YOU are the star. You can thank me later 🙂
Costco Must-Haves for New Moms
The week before I had baby number three, I hit up Costco to stock up on all. the. things. From the looks of my cart, you would have thought I was never going grocery shopping again! It was piled high with baby wipes, trail mix, peanut butter, toilet paper, cereal, yogurt, and plenty of ingredients for easy-to-cook meals.
Now that the baby is here, my grocery shopping is sporadic at best. I am still mastering the art of getting 3 kids under the age of 4 into the car and into a store without everyone (myself included) melting down! But I can rest easy knowing that we won’t be running out of baby wipes or toilet paper (the essentials!) for the foreseeable future!
I especially love the Kirkland baby wipes! They are much thicker than other brands and there are 100 wipes in a package. Believe me, with 2 kids in diapers, we go through a lot of wipes, and these are the best!
And I’m pretty sure I ate the entire 3 pound bag of trail mix by myself during the first few weeks of having a baby. It didn’t matter how much I ate at meals, I was HUNGRY ALL THE TIME! Babies literally suck the life out of you!
Here are some more of my favorite things to stock up on as a new mom:
