Top Five Kitchen Items I Am Thankful For

1

5-kitchen-items-im-thankful-forI will be the first to say that I don’t spend a lot of time cooking in the kitchen cooking. Most of the cooking in our house is done by my husband. And when I do cook, it is usually supervised by him.

But, when I am in the kitchen baking or cooking, these are the top five things I couldn’t be without!

kitchen_things_31. Our Pantry

When we bought a new house, the one thing I absolutely wanted was a pantry. Storage in a kitchen can be a huge problem and our small walk-in pantry helps solve that. It is large enough to hold all our food needs as well as several small appliances. It takes a bit to keep it structured and organized (what with two kiddos now able to get things for themselves), but it is one of my favorite things in my kitchen.

2. KitchenAid Stand Mixer

This is by far one of the best appliances you could ever own. I don’t do a TON of baking, but I love the ability to have multiple bowls and paddles to complete any project. It is also great at shredding chicken. Bake your chicken in the oven, and then pop it in the mixer with a paddle when it’s hot. It shreds perfectly!

kitchen_things_13. Quesadilla maker

When we got a quesadilla maker, I didn’t think we would use it very often. But, it is probably the thing I use the most! With lots of different options for fillings you can switch up your lunch choices frequently. From traditional Mexican flavors to buffalo chicken, your options are only limited by your imagination. My favorite? Pizza fillings! I have also thought about trying out bananas, chocolate chips, and peanut butter for a dessert option.

I have a few Pampered Chef items that I love. But the ones that get used the most in this house are the Microwave Egg Cooker and the Mix n’ Chop.

If we are on the run and need to make eggs quickly for breakfast, the egg cooker is amazing at cooking them in just a few minutes. I don’t normally like microwaved eggs, but these come up light and fluffy just like in the skillet.

The Mix n’ Chop is great at breaking up large chunks of hamburger or sausage when I am browning them up for soup, casseroles, or breakfast in general.

5. Gallon-size Ziploc bags

These are great if you need to season anything and want it done evenly, giant Ziploc bags are your best friend. If I need to put bread crumbs on something and don’t want to mess up my hands, these bags are also amazing! If you want to thaw something from the freezer, but don’t want to make a mess, these bags are amazing storage keepers.

What other items do you have in your kitchen that you can’t live without?
