2 For U Daycare is a family owned and operated childcare center with a great learning program. The owners are Jaycie and Jill Curry, sisters, and Lisha Curry, Mother.
Beginning with one child in-home back in 2008, they quickly grew to sixteen children. They have since moved to a center in Ankeny to provide more room for the children and more opportunities. The newest location in West Des Moines is now open and accepting enrollment.
2 For U offers Daycare for children ages 6 weeks through pre-school age. They follow the Creative Curriculum Program which is an observation, research based school program, used in most of the local schools. They incorporate the Love and Logic style of teaching.
What Sets Them Apart
Jaycie and Jill and their team ensures that everyone feels welcome, loved, and cared for. Their motto is “Every day is a good day”and the team strives to help children succeed to their fullest potential. Their team, passion, and philosophy and curriculum sets them apart from other centers in the area.
Last week I got the chance to visit with Directors Jill, Jaycie, and a local mom to learn what makes 2 for U special:
Owner/Director Jill shares, “One thing that people notice and comment on is the way we treat our children and involve their families in the experience.” The ‘love and logic’ philosophy is present in all our interactions and communication is a big thing with us.” Whether they are including the families in the everyday events or including them for special holiday programs, they want the center to feel like home.
That feeling of home was exactly what Mom Joelle Kirchhoff was looking for: “My son has been to 3 other centers and this is home to us. I’m confident he is loved and taken care of and that’s important to me. I love that when we walk down the hall, every teacher greets him and knows his name and asks how he is. It says a lot that everyone cares about him and not just the teachers in his room. I also appreciate that everything is done at the center. All the special programs and events are brought in, rather than worrying about him being out and about often. I know he’s safe and well taken care of.”

I have known Jaycie and Jill since they were little girls. I reconnected with them a few years ago and my youngest daughter was cared for in their home daycare. My daughter went only part time and would wake up asking if today is the day she gets to see Jaycie and Jill. She loved going to their home. We were at the center for only a very short time; my daughter is now in school. If we drive by the center, she still asks if she can go see them. I am excited for them and their second center!
