I will be the first to admit that I’m not an expert on boys’ clothing. I have no experience dressing a son, but I got a couple requests for boys’ clothing on my girls’ fashion post last month, and I thought I’d give it a shot! I tried to keep everything wearable and washable.
If I had a son, here’s what I’d dress him in this fall (which, to be honest, isn’t much different from what many of my daughter’s outfits look like!):
1. Beanie ($6.60): A cute hat for him that you can steal!
2. Slim jeans ($17.95): These gray slim jeans have a hint of stretch so he can still be rough on the playground.
3. Henley tee ($10): A simple two-toned henley shirt with a kangaroo pocket—super cute!
4. Buffalo plaid hoodie ($9.99): I’ve got this in my virtual shopping cart right now for my daughter. I think it can work for either boys or girls, which is great for sharing between siblings.
5. Camo tee ($6): A casual, comfy shirt in one of the year’s most popular prints.
6. Wild and free sweatshirt ($19.90): I think boys have a reputation of being wild, so I love this sweatshirt that declares it.
7. Loose jeans ($19.95): As much as I love the look of slim jeans on little boys, I’m not sure how realistic they are. These are loose jeans, but they still have style with knee seams and a ribbed waist and hems.
8. Shoe wings ($8.99): He’ll run even faster with shoe wings! I have a pair of these for my daughter and they are the perfect addition to any shoe with real laces.
9. Buffalo plaid flannel shirt ($17.94): Buffalo plaid is everywhere right now! I love this version with gray and white sprinkled in.
10. Suede sneakers ($19.94): Brown sneakers are so cute on little boys—and I love the tweed and mustard details on this particular pair.
11. Pocket tee ($11): The Shaun White line at Target has great pieces for boys, including this soft tee.
12. Varsity jacket ($15): This is a great jacket at a great price! Varsity jackets are super trendy right now. Bonus points if your son’s first or last name starts with C!
